Melbourne Work Experience camp

An exciting opportunity, at experiencing work, is available for our Year 10 students.

The Boundless Melbourne Work Experience program and camp is being held between Mon 1st May and Friday 5th May. This is an opportunity limited to just Wanganui Park SC and the other Alliance schools (Shepparton HS, McGuire College & Mooroopna SC).

Students will have a very limited time-line to apply, applications must be submitted by next Friday (17th March) at the latest. Being organised in how they approach this will be important. Applications are to be completed online (link details are on the attached picture). Competition for places will be strong, so students need to give serious thought to their application and would benefit from research into their area of interest to enhance this.

Applications will be screened (by Boundless and the school) for suitability between Fri 17th March and Mon 20th March. Students need to be able to be trusted to make the most of the experience in both the work and urban camp settings. Interviews for those short-listed will be held on Wed 22nd and Thurs 23rd March.

Those successful will then be given camp forms, a work experience arrangement form, teacher sign sheet, medical form, camp forms and information sheets. The camp cost will be $160, payable in the final week of term or first week of term 2. For those families who are recipients of a Healthcare card, they may make application through the school to claim the cost against the governments camp and excursions fund.

Students will travel to Melbourne on Monday 1st May where they'll be provided with training around making the most of their work experience, managing public transport to and from their placement and rules and procedures needed with our accommodation at Melbourne Discovery.

Work placements will be from Tues 2nd May until Fri 5th May. We will return by train Friday evening.
